A baffling video has shown a slab of meat twitching as if it was still alive.
In the baffling video, the meat can be seen moving apparently on its own accord as it lies on a chopping board.
Cameraman Tero behind the camera then pokes it, which appears to make the raw food twitch even more.
The artist filmed the strange scenes in the municipality of Temerloh in Pahang, Malaysia.
Tero accompanied the clip with the message: “Why is the meat moving? My mum refuses to cook it because she is so afraid.”
He later added: “We were just a bit shocked and frightened, but after that, we just pretended that it did not happen.
“We were a little freaked out because we didn’t know about the phenomenon. It stopped moving when my mum decided to put it in the fridge.
“I was amazed by the netizens’ comments because I can see there are plenty of people who know why it happened, but some of them are just as clueless as me.”
It is thought the reason behind the pulsating is because the nerve endings in the fresh piece of meat had not yet died.
The meat was being used as part of a sacrifice for Islamic Eid al-Adha.
While uncommon, there have been other examples of raw food twitching despite definitely being dead.
Back in 2017, a cut of beef was filmed twitching on camera as it hung on display in a butcher’s window.
Meanwhile, a gutted fish hanging above a hot pot was filmed moving in front of shocked diners.
