A YouTube star has shamed a man who sent her an edited version of her steamy selfie after he claimed she would be ‘perfect’ if she lost weight.
‘Self love’ advocate Jen Bretty boasts more than 685,000 followers on Instagram , sharing posts on body positivity and encouraging others to find happiness in their natural bodies.
Jen shared a picture of herself in a bikini with the caption ‘Loving ALL the parts I used to hate about myself’, which quickly racked up more than 90,000 likes from her fans.
But when one man sent her feedback on how she could ‘improve’ her look, she called him out to her army of followers.
The complete stranger sent her with a Photoshopped version of her post, with the message: “Someone did this to your pic and I gotta say cut the extra weight and you [would] be perfect.”
Sharing screenshots of the exchange, along with the image he had sent in return, Jen wrote: “Last night a guy sent me a photoshopped, much smaller, less cellulite-y version of that right picture and told me ‘I would be perfect if I lost the extra weight’.
“But I’ve been there. I lost the ‘extra weight’. I went to the gym every single day.
“Even on vacation cause no days off right? I lived off of egg whites and vegetables. And guess what? I still wasn’t happy with myself.
“So ya I gained weight but so what? That ‘extra weight’ is me being able to have a life outside of the gym. To eat food I actually enjoy.
“It’s realizing that you don’t need to be a size 2 to be fit or healthy. And most importantly, it’s a big F*** YOU to my eating disorder. I’m not losing a damn thing.”
Jen also shared the post on Twitter , saying: “A guy really took the time out of his day to Photoshop me smaller?
“I hated myself for years because I wanted to be small like that. But that’s not me, it never will be and I don’t want it to be either. I don’t need editing. F*** YOU.”
Others were loving Jen’s defiant stance again the troll, as one wrote: “As a man, whoever did this we don’t claim him anymore. He on his own.”
A second told her: “Girl you are PERFECT.”
A third said: “I consider you a super woman. And I think no one is like you and that is your power.”
Another replied: “People are stupid. You look absolutely tremendous.”
