A floating white object hailed as a “spy drone ,” a ” UFO “, or even an “angel” by conspiracy theorists has been filmed in the sky above a rally held in Iran after the assassination of Qassem Soleimani by a US airstrike in Iraq last week.
The strange clip, taken from live coverage in Tehran on January 3, has been watched more than 2,000 times since it was uploaded by Youtube user The Hidden Underbelly 2.0 yesterday.
Accompanying the video, they wrote: “At first when I saw this footage I wanted to dismiss the object in question as a big bird but the more I looked into the footage itself I could see this thing came from nowhere and it reminded me of ‘Angels of Light’ caught by Sky News during coverage of the Mexico earthquake in 2017.”
Admitting it sounded “crazy”, the Youtube user added: “The more I looked at the footage the more I believe this to be an angel”.
In the clip, tens of thousands of mourning Iranians can be seen walking in a procession through Iran.
As the conspiracy theorist claims, in the top left of the shot, a white object appears before floating upwards and out of sight.
Some viewers wildly claimed the object was an “angel”, with one commentator writing in agreement: “Very beautiful angel being!
“Goes up to our Father in heaven to tell that man is starting The End Times!” they said.
“Brothers we must keep the faith and prepare for what’s to come! God have mercy!”
“It even looked like it was flapping wings,” commented a second person.
However, many others are not buying it and instead claim the object could be aliens viewing events from a UFO.
“This is very, very bad,” wrote one believer, “It’s a time-travelling UFO, which means this is a very significant moment in history.”
In a third twist, there are also commentators remarking that the object is in fact a secret spy drone.
“More likely a drone lol,” said one.
Another person added: “Think spy drone, that’s more likely.”
“US drone with hellfire missiles in position while Pentagon asking Trump if he wants to send a clearer message to Iran,” commented a third.
Other users were more sceptical, though, suggesting it was nothing more than a bird.
