Vitoria SC are hoping to tempt another English youngster to Portugal after making a move for under-17 World Cup winner Danny Loader.
They are now aiming to repeat the trick with teenage striker Loader.
Reading youngster Danny Loader emerged as a transfer target for Portuguese side Vitoria SC
The 19-year-old will become a free agent this summer after Reading were forced to withdraw their offer of a new contract for one of their prized assets due to the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
Crystal Palace and Leeds are keen on Loader, who was close to a move to Wolves last summer.
Swansea, led by Steve Cooper who was manager of the 2017 World Cup-winning squad Loader was part of alongside the likes of Phil Foden and Jadon Sancho, have been linked too.
Former Tottenham starlet Marcus Edwards has thrived at Vitoria SC over the past season
Though Vitoria, who also signed another ex-England youngster, centre-back Easah Suliman, from Aston Villa in January, are in pole position for Loader who is ready to travel to Portugal to finalise a switch once all relevant travel restrictions are lifted.
England under-20 starlet Loader made his Reading debut aged 16 in 2017, becoming just the third player to feature for the club before turning 17.
Meanwhile, Vitoria are also battling Leeds for Jadan Raymond with both clubs having held talks with the England under-17 midfielder.
The 16 year-old, whose Crystal Palace contract expires today, has also been monitored by Manchester City.
