Matityahu Glazerson, who also claims to have found predictions of the coronavirus crisis, released a video which identified the “coded message” from passages in the Torah, The Jerusalem Post reports.
In the video, Glazerson uses the Equidistant Letter System (ELS) to pick every 10th letter in a verse to spell out the words “Iran Titkof” – which he translates to the chilling phrase “Iran will attack”.
He also picks out a reference which he claims refers to the number 5780 – the current Jewish year.
Glazerson argues this combination points to an attack on Israel from Iran at some point this year.
The bombshell prediction comes just a month after Glazerson said he discovered codes which he claims predicted the coronavirus outbreak.
Biblical codes first became popular in 1997 when reporter Michael Drosnin published The Bible Code, which studied so-called “secret messages” in the Genesis chapter in The Bible.
Mathematicians had suggested passages from Genesis pointed to details about the lives of rabbis who were not born until hundreds of years later.
Some scholars claim to have predicted atrocities such as the Holocaust and 9/11 by studying Bible codes in the past.
But many are sceptical about the analysis and have warned of the dangers of using cryptic codes to predict the future.
In the video, Glazerson suggests Israel should repent and follow God’s commandments – which he also claims to foresee in the text.
