This bizarre object was filmed traversing the sun by a NASA satellite before its cameras mysteriously began to malfunction.
A conspiracy theorist has estimated the alleged UFO might be bigger than Earth and called it “pretty spectacular” in a video analysing the chilling event.
The clip was posted on YouTube account The Hidden Underbelly 2.0 and quickly amassed thousands of views.
Explaining his findings, the YouTuber said: “On February 29 2020 STEREO A, one of the cameras that observes the sun, caught this interesting craft in our solar system.
“Now the footage was only four seconds long before the cameras malfunctioned and then – guess what – started working after this thing passed.
“Take a look at this: It is pretty spectacular. This has to have the wow factor to it.”
In the video, a large wheel-shaped object is seen to appear in the right-hand of the screen with the sun in the background.
The shape looks to be symmetrical in appearance and the YouTuber stated it is “nothing like” any of our own spacecraft.
He continued: “If you just look at the very size of this thing. This thing is huge. You can see the planets line up so it’s next to Venus, Earth, Mercury, and this thing is bigger than them.
“But it’s all a perception of distance. This thing could be further away and if it’s further away this is a really huge ship and if it’s closer it’s small but there’s something there, it’s big. Still big enough to put a few people in.”
Stunned at the finding, a fan on the channel commented: “Wow, unbelievable, what a sight this must be. If we only had better pictures.”
“Shape’s kinda like a giant Deep Space Nine,” said another impressed viewer, referencing a spaceship in the Star Trek spin-off show.
However, a cynic poured cold water on all alien theories and said the “UFO” was most-like an anomaly.
Quoting NASA Stereo Science Center’s website, they wrote: “PLASTIC suffered a high voltage anomaly on December 5.
“The instrument is in the process of being recovered to full operating mode, which is expected to take several days. Until this process is completed, PLASTIC data should be considered as untrustworthy.”
They added: “PLASTIC is one of the instruments onboard the Stereo A craft. This clip is using that instrument. So it’s an obviously unreliable effect within the camera itself.”
