AN UNKNOWN object that was seen soaring over the Great Pyramid of Giza has sent the conspiracy world into meltdown.
The bizarre footage begins with a fireball hurtling through the dusk sky above the iconic structure in Cairo, Egypt.
As it starts to move off-camera, another small orb seems to stretch away from it.
The mysterious shape then travels off in the opposite direction to the meteor.
Video of the sight was uploaded to YouTube back in June by Chinese channel Bizarre World.
One stunned viewer wrote: “A real UFO above a beautiful pyramid.”
Another added: “Awesome and mysterious.”
Others were more sceptical, though, claiming the object was “more reminiscent of a meteorite”.
Recently, experts analysing a similar video of a fireball found that lights coming off it were in fact meteor fragments that hurtled to the ground.
But amateur UFO hunter Scott C Waring – renowned for his outlandish claims – thinks otherwise.
Speaking on his site UFO Sightings Daily, he said tourists caught the footage while on holiday in the area.
He bizarrely claimed the original object was not a meteor, saying: “The UFO streaks across the sky like a meteor, but then part of it shoots out another white orb and that orb travels in the opposite direction.
“It looks to me like the people who built the pyramids were doing a flyby to check on it.”
