Said Mane gave the home side a perfect start with a cleverly taken goal after good work from Andrew Robertson.
However, Leicester hit back with a goal from Harry Maguire on the stroke of half-time.
Roberto Firmino went close twice while Alisson was on his toes at the other end to keep the scores level, ensuring the Reds stretched their lead at the top of the table to five points.

GK: Alisson – 4
Got lucky with two poor passes that should have been punished.
Didn’t look settled, but still pulled off a big save when Roberto Firmino almost scored an own goal.
RB: Jordan Henderson – 6
Drafted in as an emergency right-back and held his own well, although the Reds skipper didn’t have much defending to do in the early stages.
Avoided punishment for a trip on James Maddison then spent most of the second half camped in Leicester territory.

CB: Joel Matip – 7
Carried the ball well out from defence and fizzed in some excellent passes to the front three.
Solid in defence, although the Cameroon ace went in the book for bringing down Jamie Vardy.
CB: Virgil van Dijk – 6
Like Matip, Van Dijk looked comfortable in possession and was wise to most of Leicester’s attacks from open play.
However, the Dutchman did lose track of Maguire for the Foxes’ equaliser.
LB: Andrew Robertson – 6
Given a thorough examination by Marc Albrighton but rarely looked troubled while the Scot also played his part in the opener.
However, Roberston was guilty of giving away a needless free-kick that led to Leicester’s goal.

CM: Georginio Wijnaldum – 8
A stand-out player for the Reds, with Wijnaldum motoring around midfield fighting fires with clever positioning and shop tackling.
Also tidy on the ball and kept Liverpool ticking.
CM: Naby Keita – 4
Bailed out by Wijnaldum on more than one occasion and looked well off the pace with poor touches and undercut passes.

RAM: Xherdan Shaqiri – 6
Struggled to get hold of the ball in attacking positions, but did look good when he finally got involved.
CAM: Roberto Firmino – 6
Found it difficult to carve out space against the massed ranks of Leicester defenders, although the Brazilian did force two good stops from Kasper Schmeichel.
LAM: Sadio Mane – 8
Bagged the opener with a tidy finish and caused problems with his direct running.
However, the winger missed two good chances with his head.

ST: Mohamed Salah – 6
Frustrated by Leicester and never got a chance to really stretch the opposition.

Wasted a couple of half-chances and poor control let him down when running at the back four.
