Since Elvis Presley‘s death in August 1977, conspiracies have been fuelled that he faked his death in order to hide away from the limelight and retire in peace.
In the past, pictures of his corpse in his funeral casket showed beads of sweat which supposedly “proved he had used a body double”.
And a re-emerged video from 1974, filmed in Houston, US, has added further fuel to the fire.
A popular Elvis conspiracy Facebook page, that claims to have evidence to prove the King of Rock is still alive, shared the footage only yesterday.
The clip shows the King speaking about an upcoming show with reporters, saying: “They asked me to do it and I was anxious to do some live performances, you know, it has been a long time since I’ve been on stage in front of anyone live.”
But it was the appearance of Elvis seemingly having “brown eyes” instead of his iconic blue eyes that raised questions on the conspiracy page.
The admin wrote: “In this video, one can clearly see the brown eyes and the mannerisms as being different from that of Elvis!
“That is because this interview was done by Jesse Garon Presley.”
Bizarrely, Jesse Garon Presley was Elvis’ twin brother who died on the day they were born.
Conspiracy theorists believe Jesse may never have actually died but instead grew up to become Elvis’ body double.
That, in turn, allowed him to fake his death and go into hiding.
Commenters on the video also claimed the legendary singer appeared anxious and uncomfortable in the interview, considerably different to his usually confident persona.
One person bizarrely said: “One can see that this is NOT Elvis.
“They most likely knew (as we can see the difference).”
Another commented: “I’ve seen this before I knew it was Jesse and not Elvis as he was not comfortable.”
A third added: “Vernon looks quite nervous I thought possible because it was Jessie.”
The page’s admin replied: “I noticed that too. I also noticed that Jesse could not answer all of the questions about the events in Elvis’ life.
“This is clearly not Elvis (it is Jesse).”
Another said: “For me, it is comforting to me know Elvis has had a chance to live a happy normal life.”
Some disagreed with the wild claims, however.
One person said: “You can just see he needed some rest. He was so overworked.
“He is at rest now.”
Another said: “Poor man was so hot sweating, needed to get out.
