‘Of course I f***ing have!’: Eddie Hearn hits back at accusations he is lying about Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury talks and hasn’t contacted Bob Arum

Eddie Hearn has pulled no punches in hitting back at the sceptics who believe he is lying about talks regarding a potential superfight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.

Since Fury’s Las Vegas dismantling of Deontay Wilder, the boxing world has spoken about nothing else other than an all-British heavyweight showdown.

Hearn has been among the most vocal, going as far as to state a showdown between the two titans will certainly go ahead this year.

Yet some in boxing have been quick to doubt Hearn, suggesting he is merely drumming up publicity for his client.

Fury is set to face Wilder in a trilogy fight in the summer after the American activated a re-match clause, while Joshua will defend his titles in June against mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev

Hearn didn’t hold back in his response when speaking recently to IFL TV, and began: ‘Of course I f***ing have [spoken to Bob Arum].

‘Firstly, I’ve been negotiating the Pulev fight with him. How many times have I spoken to Bob Arum in the last three weeks? Half a dozen, a dozen.’

Legendary promoter Arum takes care of both Pulev and Fury’s headline bouts, meaning discourse with Hearn has been vital in order to stage the upcoming mandatory title clash.

‘How many times have I spoken to Arum since the Fury fight? Four times,’ Hearn added.

‘Of course I’ve spoken to Bob Arum. Do you think Bob’s not going to call me and talk about it?’
