Donald Trump’s presidency has been controversial since day one and his refusal to concede to Joe Biden is the latest in a long line of shocking acts by America’s 45th president.

But satirist and video artist Stephanie Lepp has added a “concession speech” to her Deep Reckonings series.

The collection comprises deepfake videos that show what’s really going on inside the heads of politicians and celebrities.

The video itself isn’t setting out to fool anyone – it’s clearly billed as “fake news” from the outset – but it shows how, in the wrong hands, deep fake technology could be a very dangerous weapon.

Deepfake TV showSassy Justice is “hosted” by a reporter named Fred Sassy, who happens to be a dead ringer for US president Donald Trump.

Stephanie’s Trump, with his bizarre orange makeup and that voice that always sounds as if he’s getting a slight cold, gives (in his words) the most “beautiful, tremendous and perfect “concession speech, the likes of which no American had ever heard before.

He spends most of the speech not conceding at all, but reminding listeners of the very many times that he’s won.

He adds that he’d “rather destroy the game than lose.”

Nina Schick warns that deepfakes have the power to swing elections

Referring to the widespread speculation that he will have to be dragged out of the White House by the Secret Service, or maybe make a last-minute helicopter escape like a cornered cartel drug lord, ‘Trump’ says “You know what would be the most dramatic plot twist?

“You know what would be even more dramatic than an Air Force One escape from the South Lawn? If I just acknowledged: I lost. If I did the real version of this fake-news video.”

In Nina Schick’s new book Deepfakes: The Coming Infocalypse, the author predicts the rise of sophisticated artificial intelligence-driven fake news that will completely derail democracy.

The technology is already so advanced that computers as well as humans struggle to spot the fakes

In the book she warns: “We are increasingly facing a future where media and content production is going to be made by AI.”

“Some experts who I interviewed for my book said that within five to seven years’ time 90% of video content online is going to be synthetic.”

Videos like this one, which drag the danger out into the light so we can all see how powerful this technology really is, might just do the one thing that Donald Trump has failed so far to manage: save democracy.
