A homeowner is convinced her security camera captured the sound of a nightmare-inducing clown in the dead of night.
Reddit user “katL22” said she and her husband were watching Stephen King blockbuster It at home the same day she captured the eerie sound in the house.
Her video shows the view of her living room and two slightly opened doors.
One of them leads to the kitchen where a whisper appears to have come from.
A few thumps can be heard before a sound seems to murmur: “Georgie.”
The character of Georgie features prominently in It after being attacked by antagonist Pennywise the Clown.
The user wrote in the post: “Can anyone else hear something being said on my camera? To me, it sounds like ‘Georgie’.”
She also stressed that all other family members were sleeping and she was the only who was awake at about 3.30am.
“I think my house is haunted as we have been hearing strange noises all the time and seeing shadows, things being moved about,” she added.
The unusual sighting was captured on the first night she set up the camera and while she was in the kitchen making her baby a bottle.
Viewers took a wild guess on the possible cause of the sound.
“It sounded, definitely like Georgie – from the film IT,” one wrote.
Another one joked: “I heard it. Maybe it’s Pennywise? Haha nah but that is pretty freaky!”
One said: “3 am is notable as having more paranormal experiences for some reason. It would definitely be neat to catch more incidents before getting the house blessed or what have you.”
Some tried to analyse the audio and believed that they heard cabinet doors opening and something “shifted” or fell off in the kitchen.
“I hear two thumps and something that could sound like ‘Georgie’ but is more likely something that fell, shifting or rolling,” a viewer said.
A second agreed and added: ” Yeah sounds like a scrape or something turning on.”
