Coronavirus is one of a number of “biblical plagues” which point to the end of days in the bible‘s Old Testament, a leading rabbi has claimed.

Rabbi Yosef Berger, rabbi of King David’s Tomb on Israel’s Mount Zion, claims the outbreak of the deadly flu-like disease is a reincarnation of the plagues which struck Egypt before the Exodus.

According to Jewish tradition, the 10 plagues will reappear before the Messiah.

“All of the miracles will reappear, all of the plagues, the entire story, in all its pain and all its glory,” Rabbi Berger told Breaking Israel News.

“But before the Messiah, more plagues that were not seen in Egypt will appear.

CORONAVIRUS OUTBREAK

“This is in preparation for the War of Gog and Magog in which God will play an active role, using the awesome forces of nature as his legions.

“Before He reveals the Messiah, God will show his awesome glory as it has not been seen since the Six Days of Creation.

“We cannot even imagine what it will be.”

Earlier this month, Rabbi Yosef Pinto claimed coronavirus was predicted in the bible, and that prophecy showed it would be the “biggest disaster in centuries”.

The Israeli mystic rabbi, who currently lives in Morocco, cited the Prophet Ezekiel, who in the Old Testament.

In Ezekiel 30:15-16, God says: “I will pour out my anger upon Sin, the stronghold of Egypt, and I will destroy the wealth of No.

“I will set fire to Egypt, Sin shall writhe in anguish and No shall be torn apart, and Noph shall face adversaries in broad daylight.”

Coronavirus
More than 81,000 coronavirus cases have been confirmed worldwide

In modern Hebrew, “Sin” is the name for China.

There are fears that biblical plagues which once ravaged Egypt could hit China.

These include locust swarms, which have devastated parts of east Africa.

Some swarms can be made of up to 210 million locusts and can travel up to 90 miles a day, eating as much food as 90,000 people in a single day.

The Chinese government is desperate to play down this threat, with official propaganda agency Global Times claiming: “There is little chance of a locust plague expanding in China.

China’s government has even claimed chickens and ducks could be used to repel the swarms, with the country’s official farmland division releasing 1,000 “duck troops” to protect its southwestern border.

But this is the latest threat of a plague to strike China.

Just months ago, Chinese doctors were fighting to prevent an outbreak of bubonic plague.

In Exodus, there are references to a biblical plague which causes boils, similar to that caused by the bubonic plague.

China has also been struck by an outbreak of African swine flu, with more than a third of the country’s pigs being wiped out.

Prices for pork in China, which accounts for more than half of world pork consumption, have more than doubled in the past year.

There are even references to similar plagues to the coronavirus in the religious texts of Buddhism.

In an early 20th century work by a Buddhist monk, Gentleman Zigong, it states that this year will see horrific plagues strike China.

It reads: “The year 2020 — the year all of China will weep. The omens will be so bad that the New Year will not be celebrated.

“Then the plague will come. It will come with a fury — the tigers and the wolves will hide in the mountains.”

Rabbi Berger added: “The nature of the disease is in its name. Its name means ‘crown’ because it will bring down the might. China, the high-tech giant, is being defeated, not by an army, but by a tiny thing that can’t even be seen.”

More than 81,000 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed worldwide, and nearly 3,000 have died.

New cases have been recorded in recent days in France, Austria, Spain, Germany, Greece, Italy, and Switzerland.

Earlier today, 300 workers at US firm Chevron based in Canary Wharf, London, were ordered to self-quarantine after one person reported coronavirus symptoms.
